The Lodge of Four Seasons: Lake Views, Luxury, and Legendary
Golf
By Kandy Derden & Duane Duchesne

From the title, you might think this story is about a seasonal
golf trip, but the “seasons” here don’t refer to time; they
refer to The Lodge of Four Seasons, a sprawling lakeside resort
in Missouri’s scenic Village of Four Seasons. With panoramic
views of the Lake of the Ozarks, championship golf, fine dining,
and luxurious amenities, it’s a destination that blends history,
hospitality, and fun.
Arrival, Relaxation, and a Taste of Luxury
From the moment you arrive,
the Lodge makes you
feel like royalty. We received personalized welcome notes, a
refrigerator stocked with refreshing snacks.
A platter of meats, cheeses, and fruit set the tone for a
relaxing stay. Friendly staff make every detail effortless, from
checking in to answering questions about resort activities.
Before dinner, take a stroll through the beautifully landscaped
Japanese Garden, or unwind by Fire and Ice, the resort’s
poolside bar. Firepits and abundant seating encourage
conversation, and the attention to detail throughout the
property is unmistakable.
Lakefront Dining to Remember

At HK’s Restaurant, sweeping lake views accompany a dining
experience that’s as refined as it is comforting. Appetizers
like house-smoked pork belly with pot stickers and herb-breaded
onion rings are paired with a tangy signature sauce so good it’s
bottled for sale. Dinner rolls arrive with honey-chive butter or
olive oil-balsamic dip infused with fresh garden herbs.
Entrees impress across the board. The Honey-Glazed Salmon with
Pumpkin Seed Rice balances sweetness and nuttiness, while the
Chicken Marsala is rich and hearty. Steak lovers will savor the
Filet Mignon, cooked to perfection, and Midwestern classics like
the Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich delight with house-made
horseradish BBQ sauce.
Desserts are unforgettable. We chose cobblers in charming pint
jars topped with ice cream. The S’mores Skillet, a warm
chocolate chip cookie topped with toasted marshmallows, fudge
drizzle, and ice cream will ensure your sweet tooth leaves
satisfied.
Morning continues the culinary excellence at Breezes Restaurant,
with airy vertical fans and stained-glass art setting the scene.
A pastry sampler and customizable omelets or All-American
breakfasts make for a flavorful, relaxed start to the day. For
casual meals, the Lobby Café serves boxed lunches perfect for
golf or lakeside picnics.
The Cove: A Golfer’s Playground

The Lodge boasts two championship golf courses, but its
signature is The Cove, designed by legendary Robert Trent Jones
Sr., who shaped more than 500 courses worldwide. The 18-hole,
par-71 course offers four sets of tees for all skill levels,
weaving through scenic hills and alongside sparkling lake views.
The round begins at the highest point, descending through the
first two holes before passing under a highway tunnel to the
lake. The signature hole 4, “The Witches Cove,” is a par-3
challenge over water, complete with sand behind, woods to the
right, and tricky mounds to the left, a not-so-subtle reminder
that you’re “not in Kansas anymore.” The back nine climbs and
dips, offering both birdie opportunities (sometimes thwarted by
mischievous geese) and spectacular scenery at every turn.
Golfers enjoy shuttle service to and from the course, and the
resort’s friendly, responsive staff ensure the experience is
smooth from tee to green.
More Than Golf: Amenities and Relaxation

Beyond dining and golf, the Lodge offers five pools including
indoor-outdoor options.
There are also lawn games, volleyball, and boating on the
lake. Spa Kyoto provides massages, facials, and full salon
services, with serene lounges and a meditation room for ultimate
relaxation.
For events, the resort impresses with banquet rooms, rooftop
venues, and a 200-seat movie theater, making it ideal for
weddings, conferences, or private screenings. Future upgrades
include Avila condos, wellness packages, and new recreational
activities like pickleball and mini golf, ensuring that the
Lodge continues to evolve while honoring its heritage.
A Destination That Delivers
Whether your perfect weekend involves fine dining, lakeside
lounging, challenging golf, or pampering at the spa, The Lodge
of Four Seasons delivers on every front. With breathtaking
views, attentive staff, and a playful yet polished experience,
this resort is more than a stop; it’s a destination worth
returning to again and again.
