Dining at Crawdaddy's Kitchen, a Louisiana treat |
Boy, what a blast of old Louisiana. It was so real, I would not have been at all surprised if Justin Wilson's spirit had popped in and brought a alligator in to join us. The decor is "Bayou Boathouse." The food is "Straight from the Bayou."

Yup, it taste as good as it looks |
Many of the dishes are their own specials like the Crawfish Cornbread Appetizer made from crawfish tails, herbs and spices cooked into a delicious sweet cornbread cake or one of their favorite entrees, Crawfish Half and Half a "two fer" Crawfish Etouffee and Fried Crawfish Tails. Or you might choose a Fried Crawfish Pie. If it begins to look like they have a lot of craqwfish dishes, you're right. Since you can't get real live crawfish many places other than in Louisiana, that's fine with me.

Now that is a lot of crawfish |
The important thing is Crawdaddy's Kitchen cooks know how to cook the delectable mudbug to get the most flavor from it. They use the time honored south Louisiana two pot cooking method which results in the flavor penetrating throughout the mud bug. "First, we select the best crawfish available and clean them thoroughly. Next, we submerge them in a boiling pot brimming with Cajun herbs and spices. Last, we soak them in a second pot to absorb an even more intense batch of seasonings and spices, and a generous amount of cayenne pepper." Talk about tickle your taste buds, as Justin Wilson might say if he could drop in, "dem little buds are gonna be laughing out loud dey be so happy to get dem tasty bugs."

The cook at Crawdaddy's displays their trademark shirt. |
They do serve other food besides crawfish. There is alligator, boudin (It's a pork delicacy but you don't want to know how it's made), frog legs, oysters and naturally well stuffed po-boys. They do have burgers, steak and other goodies for you less adventurous eaters.
Even if you have never tried crawfish, live a little. Their motto is "Pinch a little tail, suck a lot of head… Eat at Crawdaddy's."
